Geotechnical Engineer
We are seeking a geotechnical engineer with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and a concentration in environmental or geotechnical engineering.
Field work would primarily be subsurface exploratory work (borings, test pits, field testing, etc.)
Some of the field time would also be for overseeing junior field staff.
Most of the office time would be spent reviewing plans and preparing proposals/subsurface exploration programs, analyzing subsurface and laboratory data, preparing reports and specifications, meeting/talking with clients, etc.
The Geotechnical Engineer will be involved with many facets of site and building design including slope stability studies, assessing soil bearing capacity/settlement, lateral earth pressures, dewatering, pile capacities, excavation support, ground improvement techniques, surcharging, blasting, vibrations, soil/rock re-use, placement and compaction of fill, and field testing.
